Cashmere
Cashmere is a stunning white Boxer who has one blue eye and one brown eye.  She is only about 7 months old, and she weighs 40 pounds.  Her foster mom says she is a smart spunky girl who has lots of energy!  She just passed her evaluation for doggie day care and is excited about attending!  She is in a home with 3 other dogs and does well with them.  Cashmere needs a fenced yard for safe exercise and a person who is committed to continuing her training so that she is mentally exercised as well!  She would do best in a home with no small pets or children under 8 yrs old because she could accidentally hurt them with her youthful exuberance.

Cashmere is in the care of our friends at Boxer Rescue.  You can contact Boxer rescue directly at www.adoptaboxerrescue.com

Lucky
Lucky is a silly little, small to medium sized dog who is white with tan spots.  He looks like he has Pointer mixed in him, but he is smaller than a Pointer.  He has an adorable little tan colored nose too. Lucky has lots of energy and loves to wiggle his whole body when you go to see him.  He is very vocal and likes to talk to you so he may not be the best match for an apartment or condo.  Lucky would do really well with a fenced in yard or someone who likes to go for lots of walks.

Rita
Rita the Akita is not in the shelter--she is in a foster home, please use the contact info below.  Rita is a gorgeous 2 year old spayed Akita.  Her foster family says she is one of the most incredible dogs they have ever had.  She is so interested in being with people, lays calmly at your feet (or on your lap!), listens to what you say, and will form a very strong bond with whoever adopts her.  At a recent vet visit, another client in the waiting room remarked on how well-behaved Rita was, and was so impressed she asked if the foster mom would be interested in helping her train her dog as well.  Although flattered with the compliment, we have to admit that Rita was simply made this way.  She is a good dog.

She is on the small side at 65 pounds, and her ideal weight is probably about 5 pounds away.

Rita was born with an eye condition called micropthalmia, which means her eyes are small.  As a result, her third eyelids are always visible, which is the pink part that you might see in her photos.  Along with the small eyes, dogs are often born with cataracts, like Rita.  The opthamologist says that she has limited vision, but don't tell Rita that!  She can do everything a dog with full sight can do, including running, chasing toys and flushing (and almost catching!) birds out of the bushes.  No one who has met her would even guess she has a "handicap".  When the snow clears, we will post videos so you can see her in action.

Rita is regal and dignified in public, but with her foster family, she is truly on the goofy, silly side.  She is not reactive to other dogs, or even cats she has met briefly. But at only 2 years old, she is still just a pup, and with maturity this may change. We are looking for a home with Akita, German Shepherd, or similar experience, or a real interest in learning about the breed.

Rita the Akita is a very special girl who deserves a great home.  Her past life has not been a good one, and it is time for her to be with someone who appreciates her.  All this dog wants is some good exercise, and the chance to be with a person who needs a companion.  One who likes to have a dog lay her head on their lap.

Please call 410.880.2488 ext 3 or always4tucker@yahoo.com to talk more about Rita, or to meet her.

Simon
Simon is in our rescue program in a foster home; please use the contact info below.  Simon is about 8 months old.  He has a great sense of humor--he is funny and sweet, and loves to play and get attention.  He is a bit shy in new situations, but only because he hasn't had a lot of exposure yet.  After he has been somewhere for about 10 minutes, he gets his bearings and is a total social butterfly.  He is looking for a patient family who is ready for a goofy puppy.  He is solid black, so we think he (meaning we) might have gotten his photos confused with his sibling Schuster.  He is housetrained with supervision.  He is current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, been dewormed, is free of fleas, is neutered and microchipped.  He can't wait to meet you and share some kisses. Please call 410.880.2488 ext #3 or always4tucker@yahoo.com
